Thank you to all who have sacrificed their own comfort, safety, time spent with family and even their very lives to serve this country. May we all give the respect and gratitude due to those who helped to keep us free for as long as we have been!
We do know that there is, was, and will be an ultimate Victor. He is the one who conquered the most diabolical enemy.
It is finished
He has done it
Life conquered death
Jesus Christ has won it!
Ma,
ReplyDeleteWe were just listening to Keith Green music tonight on our way home from town. It was given to my son after he recently had surgery. He'll especially enjoy this video.
My Dad and my Beloved both served in the military, and I grew up in a church that was right near a military base. It can be a hard road for the wives, too. Thanking God with you today for the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Good reminder :) Thanks, Ma!
ReplyDeleteHi Trisha,
ReplyDeleteI am new to Keith Green. I heard something of his on a podcast I listen to regularly and really enjoyed it. Where have I been?
I'll have to read about your son's surgery, too.
And I can't imagine how hard it is for military wives. A very good point.
A good friend of mine who also home-schools took her kids downtown to the Veteran's Day parade here in Indianapolis. They made thank you cards and passed them out to the veterans. What a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteI loved Keith Green's music when I first was saved. His ministry had little gospel tracts that I liked too. Some people I visited at that time followed his ministry pretty closely. Keith had already passed away at the time, he died in 1982, I was saved in 1988.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with all of his theology (imagine that, lol) but I do believe he had a sincere and passionate yearning for the Lord.
Find part of his bio here:

lol :P
I didn't look into his stuff theology wise-yet...I understand he was involved with the Vineyard movement..we visited a Vineyard church once in our church shopping, not our cup o' tea.
Thanks for the link:)
I was saved in 95ish;)
I found his thoughts to be a little schizophrenic (but I guess I prolly contradict myself at times also)

About Jesus Keith said, “Loving Him is to be our cause. He can take care of a lot of other causes without us, but He can’t make us love Him with all our heart. That’s the work we must do. Anything else is an imitation.”
I wholeheartedly disagree because it is God's work in us that changes us to be the loving beings we need to be.
Anyway, I did really enjoy his song "The Prodigal Son". He was very "works oriented" and frantic.
But on the subject of Veteran's day, did you see the Yahoo article about the Garfield cartoon? I wonder if someone on the newspaper timed it that way on purpose? It was pretty weird anyway...
Went to the Family Research Council (FRC) Friends dinner here in Southern California last night and witnessed a wonderful recognition speech and video for our Veterans and Active military persevering our country's fredoms and liberty, One nation under God.
ReplyDeleteWe must remember that freedom is never free. Thank you Ma. And the movie was Eat, Pray, Love.
Thanks Brian..I like to know what to look out for:)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a nice evening! And freedom isn't free like you said, we are very blessed.
Shamar,
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too in one of Keith's songs "He'll Take Care of the Rest". ...Kind of sounds like Mormon theology, we are saved by grace after all we can do.
I really do see the passion and love for Jesus in his music, too...and I'm not really a "Christian music person". Thank God we don't have to have our theology just perfect or we would be in big trouble.
I don't know how we could possibly muster up loving HIM with our whole hearts on our own, either. I think for some they just assume they are the ones doing it.
No, I didn't the article..off I go;)

ReplyDeleteAmen Ma!
God Bless you tonight my friend!
