I happened upon this series several weeks ago. This seemed like a good time to post them.
Four Pointer gives us a multiple part series highlighting the fact that Paul did indeed teach what Jesus did. Paul, however, had further revelation of the new covenant, the mystery of the Church age and the (temporary) setting aside of Israel...things Jesus alluded to, but didn't expound upon during his earthly ministry.
Anyone who is questioning whether Paul is legit should prayerfully read it. Again, I am not trying to defend Paul so much as upholding the entire cannon of scripture.

Good grief, Ma. I may never get off the internet if you keep posting this stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lively chatter you have kickin' at your blog place!
Lively:) I like that.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteYour comment made me think of the term "lively stones" -- Holy Spirit? I do believe so!
So I looked it up with my e sword:
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
That term has me thinking about the fact that we should be as immovable as a steady rock, stubborn in our rock solid faith...and yet not robotic, but LIVELY! Awesome! The Word of God is a living thing that the Holy Spirit plants into our hearts, and reminds us of later as needed! Hallelujah!!!!
Thanks Ma, for the links :)
Great thoughts Susan! I love this series and I think I posted the links over at Tex's place at once time too.
ReplyDeleteWe are just getting to the lively stones part in 1Cor here at home so this fits in well.
Ma, I got a good chuckle out of reading that article.
ReplyDeleteI think I will address it point by point on Tex forum tonight.
I did peak "over there"... I feel sorry for Tex :( but I do agree that the Lord will allow what He will allow for a certain amount of time, and all my trying to turn things around is like trying to spit into the wind, lol... I see the wisdom in your reply there, and know that I have alot yet to learn even (hopefully, I mean) in my "advanced years" *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWhen I did beat around that bush there, I did learn quite a bit about all that stuff, including how I myself swerve in and out of legalism.... and all the reasons why it is against what God had intended... and yet He knew this would happen, and had worked it all into His perfect plan :-)
That song keeps coming to mind "In His time, in His time, God makes all things beautiful in His time...." I wish I weren't so impatient :-P
Spit into the wind, funny:)
ReplyDeleteI listened to Chris White's series "Paulianty Debunked" last weekend and it was really good. Chris even addresses the whole "tribe of Benjamin" prophecy. It is so easily debunked and I didn't hear anything I didn't already know, but it was great confirmation. Like I said over at Tex's if I WERE a man, I may have a good ol' time debating about this, but I honestly don't think it is a good use of time for me.
On a positive note, this has caused me to dig deeper, rethink some of my hermeneutics and presuppositions, and gain a better understanding of some things.
We are always going to be learning and that is what is so cool. The riches of Christ are inexhaustible!
